Was Nikola Tesla gay or not?

Tesla was known for his close friendships with men, such as Robert Underwood Johnson and George Sylvester Viereck. Some of his letters to Viereck have been described as having a romantic tone, with phrases like “I cannot help loving you dearly” and “I love you as a brother” . 

Tesla was a lifelong bachelor who claimed that his chastity was helpful to his scientific abilities. He was known to be a private person, which may have contributed to the secrecy surrounding his personal life . 

So, was Nikola Tesla gay? We can’t say for certain. But one thing’s clear: he had a powerful connection with his work and his pigeons. Whether he was zapping hearts or just circuits, Tesla’s legacy continues to electrify our imaginations. And who knows, would Musk name his popular cars if he knew Tesla was gay?
